The Pediatric Multidisciplinary Inpatient Department of the Pediatric Consultative and Treatment Service is located on the third floor of the central building of SIS “CIHT” SAD.

The fundamental principle of the Pediatric Inpatient Department’s work is minimal invasiveness, intensity, and maximum safety of treatment for the patient, and a comfortable stay for both the mother and child in the hospital.

The inpatient rooms (single and double occupancy) are designed as semi-private boxes (isolation units) to prevent cross-infection and are equipped with a separate bathroom.

This design allows for the treatment of children with a wide range of:

Surgical pathologies (congenital developmental anomalies, acute surgical diseases, acute intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, peritonitis, etc.).
Somatic (Medical) pathologies (diseases of the digestive and respiratory systems, cardiovascular system, Central Nervous System (CNS), etc.).

The department performs the full scope of emergency and planned surgical interventions for children from the newborn period up to 18 years of age, using both endoscopic and open methods.

This is the only facility in Ukraine that offers the possibility of performing several surgical interventions simultaneously on one child under one anesthesia, thanks to the involvement of surgeons from various specialties. This significantly reduces psychological trauma for the child and parents and shortens the length of hospital stay.

A Pediatric Anesthesiologist is on duty 24/7 in the hospital, ready to provide emergency assistance at any time.

Electroencephalography (EEG) with Video Monitoring

The Pediatric Inpatient Department conducts Electroencephalography (EEG) with video monitoring (hourly, daily, nocturnal). This procedure allows for the early-stage diagnosis of pathological changes in CNS function and convulsive syndrome in children from the newborn period up to 18 years of age, as well as monitoring the adequacy of anticonvulsant therapy and medication dosages.
