To improve perinatal outcomes for pregnant women whose medical care is provided at SIS “CIHT” SAD, the Maternity Ward was opened in June 2020. It has 10 beds with an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for pregnant and postpartum women, and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for newborns.

The department also includes an office for the observation and management of pregnant and postpartum women. Thus, the department’s mission expands to providing highly qualified 24/7 inpatient and outpatient medical care to pregnant women, women in labor, postpartum women, and newborns.  

 Areas of Activity

  • Provision of highly qualified 24/7 inpatient and outpatient medical care to pregnant women, women in labor, postpartum women, and newborns.
  • Supervision and management of pregnancy, including high-risk pregnancies.
  • Childbirth, postpartum, and neonatal care.

In addition to women from the assigned contingent, all interested women are observed, admitted for childbirth, and treated on a contract basis.

  • Pre-labor examinations: Ultrasound diagnostics (fetometry, Doppler assessment of the fetoplacental complex, fetal biophysical profile, CTG).

  • Cesarean section.
  • Partnered childbirth.
  • Pain relief during labor (anesthesia).
  • Postpartum period and breastfeeding support.
  • Primary newborn examination.
  • Discharge.

Neonatal care for all newborns, including premature babies.
